Stallholders

About ninety stallholders take part in the Lilac Fair each year. Priority goes to makers, growers and producers from Vengerberg and the villages around it, and to the town’s clubs and charities.

What we need from you

  • Public liability insurance of at least £5 million, with a copy of the certificate.
  • For food stalls: your food business registration, your latest hygiene rating, and an allergen list on the stall.
  • A gazebo or stall of your own, weighted with at least 15 kg on each leg. No pegs or stakes in the Market Square or Church Walk.
  • A risk assessment if you use gas or cook on the stall.
  • No generators, amplified music or helium balloons.

On the day

  • Setting up from 7.00 to 9.30 on both days. All vehicles must be off the fair site by 9.30 and can return after 17.15.
  • Stallholders’ parking is in the Riverside car park, top level, with a pass we send you.
  • Stalls must stay open until 17.00.
  • Take your rubbish home, or use the stallholders’ skip behind the Church Hall.

Applying

Application forms are available from the museum desk from 1 February, or by post from the Lilac Fair committee at the museum. The closing date is 31 March. The committee allocates pitches in early April and writes to every applicant by 20 April. We do not take applications online or by telephone.

The committee aims for a fair with variety, so we may not be able to offer a pitch to every stall of the same kind. Stallholders who have taken part in the last three fairs are offered the same pitch first.

Questions: lilacfair@vengerberg.org, or leave a note for the fair committee at the museum desk.
