Website accessibility
Last updated 19 January 2026
This statement applies to vengerberg.org. For access to the museum building, see the access guide.
We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. That means you should be able to:
- zoom in up to 400% without the text spilling off the screen;
- navigate the whole website using just a keyboard;
- use the website with a screen reader;
- use the website on a phone, with no sideways scrolling;
- use every public page with JavaScript turned off.
How accessible this website is
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 at level AA, and we test every page with an automated checker at desktop and phone widths when the site changes. We know of these limitations:
- The maps of the walks are drawings. Every stop on a map is also described in the text below it, in order, but the shape of the route is shown only on the map. The walk leaflets at the museum desk describe the routes in words, and a volunteer can talk you through a route by telephone.
- The PDF of the annual report and accounts has tagged headings but its tables of accounts may be hard to follow with a screen reader. We can send the accounts as a spreadsheet or in large print on request.
- The volunteer handbook PDF has not been fully tested with screen readers.
Feedback
If you find a problem with this website, or need information in a different format, please email info@vengerberg.org or telephone the Trust office. We will reply within ten working days.
How we tested this website
The website was last tested in January 2026, with an automated checker on every page and by a volunteer who uses a screen reader, on a sample of pages including the home page, the museum page, a walk, a news story and the access guide.
